About
A Canadian Couple Crafting with Heart
We’re David Wood and Laura Berry — a couple of Canadian makers working with reclaimed and recycled materials, united by a shared passion for sustainability, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
Our Values
Sustainable Craftsmanship
We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact by using reclaimed, recycled, and responsibly sourced materials. Every product is a step toward a more conscious, low-waste future—without ever compromising on quality.Purposeful Design
Function meets form in everything we make. From the weight of a knife to the grain of a cutting board, our designs are intentional, practical, and built to elevate everyday experiences.
Heritage Quality
Our work is rooted in tradition and built to endure. Handmade in Canada with care and precision, each piece is designed to be passed down—not thrown away.
History of Glyph Productions
Glyph Productions began in 2020, born from a quiet craft and a moment of inspiration. For years, David Wood had been hand-forging knives — a personal passion rooted in tradition and skill, with the occasional piece sold to friends or collectors. During the early days of the pandemic, Laura Berry (David’s spouse) saw the potential for something more and encouraged him to share that craftsmanship with the world. Together, they founded Glyph Productions — a name that would come to represent not just quality tools, but the legacy behind them.
What started with knives soon grew into a full line of heirloom-quality kitchen and home goods. David focuses on the making — crafting each unique blade from carbon steel and shaping cutting boards from salvaged Canadian lumber, both often accented with epoxy. Laura brought her own creativity into the fold, designing and crocheting handmade kitchen towels from recycled materials. Along with making, she took the reins on marketing, storytelling, and building the brand. As demand grew, Sue Tilley (David’s mother) joined the team, managing online sales and booking venues and markets — turning Glyph Prod. into a true family operation.
Today, Glyph Productions is still proudly handmade in Canada, fueled by sustainable practices and a deep respect for craft. Every product we make — whether it’s a forged knife, a crocheted towel, or a one-of-a-kind leather piece — is built to last, made with care, and meant to become part of your everyday rituals for years to come.

Co-Founder & Craftsman
Born in 1987 in Oshawa, Ontario, David has always had a natural instinct for making things by hand. Encouraged by his grandfather from a young age, he learned to work with tools early in life. By his early 20s, he was already crafting and selling handmade knives to friends and family. Today, David brings decades of experience and a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship to Glyph Productions, where he hand-makes heirloom-quality knives and builds cutting boards, vases and decorative items using reclaimed Canadian materials.

Co-Founder, Artist & Maker
Laura was born in 1990 in Uxbridge, Ontario, into a home full of creativity and artistic talent. Her mother, a professional and award-winning artist, nurtured Laura’s imagination from an early age. Laura went on to study at OCAD University, Canada’s oldest and largest art and design school, and became an award-winning artist herself. By 16, she was already selling her paintings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she taught herself to crochet, adding a new medium to her creative practice. At Glyph Productions, Laura designs and crochets handmade kitchen towels from recycled materials, while also leading the company’s photography, branding, and storytelling.
